Outpulse connects to your X account via OAuth to post replies and send DMs on your behalf. Your credentials are never stored in plain text — access tokens are encrypted with AES-256.

During onboarding

The third step of onboarding prompts you to connect your first X account. Click Connect X account, authorize Outpulse on X’s OAuth page, and you’ll be redirected back automatically.

Adding accounts after onboarding

You can connect additional X accounts at any time:
  1. Go to Settings → Connected accounts
  2. Click Connect new account
  3. Authorize Outpulse on the X OAuth page
Each connected account is scoped to a workspace. To use the same X account across workspaces, connect it separately in each workspace.
X’s API limits the number of third-party apps that can be authorized per account. If you run into an authorization error, check that you haven’t exceeded X’s app authorization limit for that account.

Required permissions

Outpulse requests the following permissions when you connect your X account: Outpulse does not read your DM inbox or access your followers/following list.

Pausing an account

Pausing a connected account stops all posting from that account without disconnecting it. Active monitors continue scanning and scoring, but no drafts will be posted. To pause: Settings → Connected accounts → Pause Resume at any time from the same page.

Disconnecting an account

Disconnecting an account removes it from Outpulse and revokes its tokens. Any monitors tied to that account will be paused automatically. To disconnect: Settings → Connected accounts → Disconnect
Disconnecting an account does not revoke the OAuth authorization on X’s side. To fully revoke access, go to X Settings → Security → Connected apps and remove Outpulse there as well.
