Outpulse does not automatically poll X for inbound replies — conversations happen natively on X. Follow-up management is done manually through the Outbound Tracker pipeline status.

The follow-up workflow

  1. Outpulse sends a DM to a prospect via a campaign
  2. The thread appears in the Outbound Tracker with status Awaiting reply
  3. You check X for replies (via the View Chat on X deep link in the thread)
  4. Update the thread status manually based on what you find
→ Outbound Tracker

Identifying threads that need follow-up

In the Outbound Tracker, filter by Awaiting reply to see all threads where you haven’t yet updated the status. These are your candidates for follow-up. Use the Last outbound timestamp to identify threads where enough time has passed — 2–3 business days is usually a good follow-up window.

Sending a follow-up

Follow-up DMs go out through the same campaign flow as initial outreach. The simplest pattern is to create a small follow-up campaign for the specific cohort you want to chase (e.g. one campaign per “Awaiting reply
3 days” cohort). Generate, edit, and send drafts as you would for any other campaign.
After sending, the new DM appears in the thread detail in the Outbound Tracker alongside the original message.

Updating pipeline status

After checking the conversation on X, update the thread status to reflect what happened:

Follow-up best practices

  • One follow-up is usually enough — more than that risks being marked as spam on X
  • Add new value in the follow-up — don’t just repeat the first message; share something relevant or ask a different question
  • Timing matters — following up 2–3 business days after the first message performs better than same-day or weekly follow-ups
  • Use private notes — jot down what you know about the prospect in the thread’s Notes field before writing the follow-up
